Old sugar mills

Sancti Spiritus province has a lot: cities like Trinidad, the Cuban colonial jewel shaped by time, the Ancon beach, the mountains similar to those of Sierra Escambray, fishing in the lake or Zaza with its green fields and cattle. Just a short drive to see how things are at this agricultural area of ​​the Island View , with cows, buffaloes and sheep, or Antigos Lada . We had our car parked in front of the tiny village that crosses the road or the palm trees that dot the small reservoirs. The wealth of the area was forged in a valley where still stand the remains of sugar mills that date back to the 19th century, even though many of them were destroyed during the War of Independence and the U.S.
