Between modernity and antiquity
Sarajevo is a city that walks between modernity and antiquity, while you can see elements of art and relics of many years. This also can be seen in transport. When they began to rebuild the city after the war a metro was planned, but these plans never materialized and today the most widely used transport is the tram. Specifically, in Sarajevo there are 7 tram lines, 4 trolley bus and 9 bus. The trams are somewhat dated but, perhaps because of it, have great charm and even beautify the city. They work very well and you can go anywhere by public transport, and the times are quite extensive. I personally loved going through the streets of Sarajevo and seeing the trams everywhere full of people.
Private cars in this city are all very old models as after the war the economic difficulties were more obvious. If you like the classic models you will find them all here. For example, I love my van and I have a special admiration for the old transporter, especially those who have headlights like eyes - and I saw many of them in Sarajevo. Unbelievable. As for the roads they have invested enough. The main street is where you enter the city, traffic is busy but always fluid. If you go with your own car you will not have too many problems when driving through Sarajevo.
