If you find yourself between Blenheim and Kaikoura, there is a mandatory stop. Seddon's supermarket offers the best sandwiches in the country for 1.5 euros. The most renowned are the minced meat and cheese, and the pineapple, ham and cheese. This road doesn't offer many bars or supermarkets, and the few that are open are usually expensive. The Seddon is very affordable, pleasant and has delicious food. The town's activity is farm, mine and salt based in the suburbs. There is a tourist office and public toilets.
