During colonial times, the town functioned as an Indian reservation and now has an indigenous council

One of the first weekends that we spent this summer in Bogota we took advantage of the time and we went to the house of some friends who have a house in Tominé, situated relatively close to the reservoir. Although I have spent a lot of time in Sesquilé which, like other towns in northern Bogota, has the typical grid of streets, main squares and churches. The municipality was founded in the year 1600 by Luis Enriquez. It is situated 63 km away from the capital and before the arrival of the Spanish, the village was a settlement, whose own language was called the Arroyada Boqueron. During colonial times, the town functioned as an Indian reservation and now has an indigenous council.
