1 review of St. Catharines

This canal was built for ships carrying goods from Lake Ontario to Lake Erie

Saint Catharines is town which is not particularly interesting, situated along the banks of the canal that runs parallel to the Niagara River. This canal was built for ships carrying goods from Lake Ontario to Lake Erie, so that they could access it at a much higher elevation. To overcome this obstacle different locks were built along this channel.
