Széchenyi Square

In my opinion, one of the most beautiful squares in Europe. Széchenyi Square with it's painted buildings in stunning pastel colours, is centre of the city of Pécs. In the same place is the City Hall, the Tourist Office, the Mosque of Pasha Gazi Kaszim, the monument to the Holy Trinity (built between 1710 and 1714) which commemorates the end of the plague epidemic that ravaged the city. It was rebuilt in 1908 before the equestrian statue of Hunyadi János Pál Pátzai was completed in 1956.
