Gift for both the eyes and the soul

There's beauty to be found in every square inch of the Pantanal. It's especially beautiful at sundown when the light reflects off the water. It's an amazing place full of virgin nature, free-roaming animals, and friendly people. It's hard to say how many days you'll need to fully explore the region...after all, it's huge and there are tons of things to see. I'm already dying to go back. The Pantanal is truly a gift for both the eyes and the soul.

Amazing wetlands in Brazil

The Pantanal is a region of Brazil that's famous among nature-lovers worldwide. It's a huge wetland area that's home to countless types of plants and animals, especially birds. In fact, it just might be the richest ecosystem on Earth outside of the Amazon. We went during the dry season and it was odd to imagine that everywhere we went would be flooded during the wet season. We had the chance to see the tuiuius (an iconic bird in the Pantanal) and black caimans, among other species.

O parque de 135 mil hectares corresponde a 1% de todo o Pantanal e foi criado para preservar a rica biodiversidade da região. Os esforços de conservação garantiram que aqui se concentrasse boa parte da fauna pantaneira, com registros consideráveis de onças pintadas que habitam no local. Como não há infraestrutura para visitação pública, é preciso contratar uma lancha ou barco para observar o local a distância, o que já garante boas fotografias e recordações. O acesso de barco é feito a partir do hotel Porto Jofre Pantanal, no final da rodovia Transpantaneira, km 145. Dali são duas horas de barco até o parque. Contato: O escritório do ICMBio, administrador do Parque, fica próximo ao rio Cuiabá, onde não há sinal de telefone. Questa area del Brasile costituisce uno degli ecosistemi paludosi più esteso di tutto il pianeta. Tra Campo Grande e Corumbà, al confine con la Bolivia scorre l'arteria principale che costituisce la porta d'ingresso meridionale della zona. Dall'isolata cittadina di confine sulle sponde del rio Paraguay dove l'unico lavoro che rende purtroppo è quello del contrabbandiere è possibile organizzare una escursione di qualche giorno nella zona umida. Il turismo sta raggiungendo anche questi luoghi e alcune fazendas che sorgono nella zona si stanno convertendo in graziosi eco-lodge. In alternativa è possibile ottenere un trattamento in campeggio, meno comodo ma sicuramente più avventuroso ed ecologico.

Pesquei uma piranha em um dos rios do Pantanal e depois jogamos de volta à água. Nesse mesmo instante surgiu do mato um gavião fumaça que quase pega a piranha antes de chegar na água. Com uma tele angular e a sorte de um fotógrafo amador, consegui fazer uma foto do gavião e sua sombra projetada no rio exatamente nesse momento.
