In the entrance to Nerja
At the entrance to the town of Nerja (on the old N-340 route from Almeria), is the Rapto de Europa Sculpture by the sculptor Aurelio Teno. It was built in the year 1986 in commemoration of the entrance of Spain to what was then the European Economic Community. The monument consists of a group of bronze sculptures behind arched doors made from whitewashed masonry, all within a small landscaped roundabout.
