This is the historic capital of the region of Tregor. It has a special popularity among the Britons as "the city of the spirit and generosity". It has been a religious centre for many years, and therefore it has one of the largest religious populations in Britain. Ernest Renan was born here, and he's not just the only one of his genius since the whole history of this town and of the Britons can be found in the streets, alleys, gardens, and home interiors (since most people leave their doors wide open). The episcopal legacy is very large, and the culture was always there. The Christian roots here are very old.
