Troodos

The green landscape of the Troodos region, formed by large pines and cedars, contrasts sharply with the rest of the Mediterranean coast. This area, located halfway between Nicosia and Limassol, reaches 1950 m at its highest point. There are not many places in the world where you can be on the beach in the morning and ski in the afternoon.

There are two options to stay in Troddos: sleep in Platres, a winter resort where, incidentally, Arthur Rimbaud, the poet, worked as a construction foreman in 1881, or stay in the village, Kakopetria, where there's no snow.

At the epicenter of the ten Byzantine churches declared World Heritage by UNESCO.
