We stayed at the Hotel Melia Braga because we found a significant discount on a travel website. It's a little far from the centre, about 40 minutes by foot. There's a bus stop nearby, but the last bus goes to town at 20:30. The reception is an open space decorated in white and modern furniture. We stayed in a triple room on the top floor. The views were beautiful. There was a double bed, one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in, and a sofa bed, which was also very comfortable. The room had many details, the lights are controlled by embedded panels on the bedside tables. There was a safe, minibar, plasma TV, hairdryer, shower and tub. The room and bathroom were only separated by glass (impractical if you're sharing the room with friends). The hotel featured a spa, Jacuzzi, indoor pool, Finnish sauna, Turkish bath, cold/hot baths, and jet showers. A real delight. Neither the spa nor the gym are included in the room rate. The staff was helpful and accommodating. The Meliã Braga is an excellent choice, but not suitable for all budgets.
Aquafalls SPA hotel offers dazzling views across Peneda do Gerês National Park, Albufeira da Caniçada and Rio Cávado. It is a 5 star boutique hotel with 22 suites across 11 bungalows. The Spa By Sisley offers a great variety of treatments based on plant extracts and oils. It has a restaurant, bar, outdoor and indoor swimming pool and mini-golf course.
