This beautiful little village is perched on the way from Arles to Saint-Remy-de-Provance and is a must see. The winding road invites you to stop in one of the many places where you can see the mountains of bauxite rock, which are very abundant in the area. Don't forget to visit its ancient church. The ruined castle that you can pay to enter, we felt very prepared for the visit of families with children, as they have mounted a show with a catapult and a crossbow. The village is on top of a mountain carved in rock, blends with it.
After the darkness, there's light. With this motto representative of the Calvinist faith, this is the most famous and spectacular window in the village of Les Baux de Provence. It may be one of its most photographed and famous places. It's one of those places that the aura of mystery catches you. It proudly emerges out of the remains of the ancient medieval palaces and becomes known as the "Citadale de la ville morte". The Renaissance window remains erect and motionless, proud over time. Perhaps, its motto has managed to save it. And indeed, after darkness comes the light. The light is in Provence and in towns like this. Listed as one of the most beautiful villages of France, Les Baux gives us amazing place of incomparable and unique beauty. It's a really lovely place in France.
