Museum of natural history

We spent an entire morning at the Museum of Natural History, and we personally chose to visit because it has the best and most extensive collection of dinosaur bones in the world. It opens at 10 am and admission is about $20. The main entrance has a huge dinosaur skeleton that greets visitors. I recommend that you go directly to the dinosaur floor because the museum is quiet and and you be nearly alone. The T-Rex surprised me the most, and is made almost exclusively from bones of two specimens found in Montana. It is the same T-Rex from the movie "Night at the Museum." I also enjoyed the dioramas, where the largest meteorite in the museum collection is preserved.

Space!

I would like a child again and live in New York. As I was convinced after visiting the American Museum of Natural History! The hordes of children that fill the halls of the museum are fascinated by wild animals played in the many windows, as well as the mysteries of science perfectly explained with photos and videos. It took me 5 hours to see the museum, practically read anything I do not know how many days tarderei dwelling on the boards, on documentary films, workshops. The entry also gave me access to the planetarium, where I am excited about making the move from space show "Journey to the Stars", an explanation of the universe almost extrasensory voiced by Whoopi Goldberg. In addition to the animals, there are several sections dedicated to tribal customs and traditions from around the world, the "legendary" section of the dinosaurs and that of minerals, containing the largest meteorite ever came to Earth. A full day is quite narrow, perhaps I would spend a "Night at the Museum" as onomimo film set here.

Spaziale!

Vorrei tornare bambino e vivere a New York. Ne sono rimasto convinto dopo aver visitato l'American Museum of Natural History!

The world's largest museum

The American Museum of Natural History was founded in 1861. With some 36 million pieces from all over the world is the largest museum in the world. In the rooms you can admire fossil dinosaur skeletons five stories high, and enjoy the latest exhibitions exploring the origins of life on Earth from the Jurassic. There is a butterfly house open from October to June. There are dioramas showing the life of animals and birds. There are also exhibits on humanity, as rooms dedicated to Native Americans and the peoples of Africa, Asia and South and Central America. Throughout the museum there is a steel and glass cube that offers breathtaking views of the Rose Center for Earth and Space. It has the largest collection of meteorites in the world and the section of minerals and precious stones is unsurpassed, among which are The Star of India (a sapphire amazing) and a red diamond in the world there are only three.

Nature arrested

This museum has been running for 145 years had a beginning of the most discreet and humble, as his only piece of value was a mastodon tooth and a thousand beetles. But gradually, like all good things and all that deserve recognition, and fame gained ground, to the point that today has more than thirty million objects, interactive exhibits and wonderful dioramas of stuffed animals and presented in their natural habitats which are a great attraction for all those lovers of nature. The museum is famous for its three main rooms that are home to large skeletons and replicas of prehistoric animals that have been carefully restored and relocated a few years ago, adding new information about the behavior of these giant animals. Among the treasures and curiosities of the Museum's collection, include sapphire called "Star of India" in the Hall of Minerals and Gems and reproduction of a huge whale hanging from the ceiling of the Hall of Ocean Life. On the other hand the great halls of the Hall of Biodiversity immerse us in different habitats on Earth in an attempt to make us remember what our planet and how we have been changing. A different experience is the Rose Center for Earth Space an a planetarium that projects 3D on a huge ball of glass a fascinating recreation of the Big Bang theory that explains how the universe originated. The surrounding space as helical ramp speaks with views of the planets, asteroid debris and rocks, the immensity that surrounds the small planet Earth. Walking through the museum we see all kinds of stuffed animals, habitats in the world, civilizations that last or disappeared, ceremonial masks, temporary exhibitions with live spiders or other protagonists speaking about the power of poison and their uses throughout history , huge and tiny insect fossils ... The catalog of small and big jewelry is endless. Although if you ask me what was the memory more strongly was recorded in my retina or my memory, I must say that it certainly was the great hall which christened Theodoe Roosevelt Memorial, with its large dinosaur skeletons, dioramas end nineteenth with perfect reproductions of plant and animal habitats, and of course, the rooms where we can inquire about lesser known aspects of African and South American cultures. A place to learn that we are not individual beings, but depend on each other for survival. So it has been for millions of years and it should remain so.

American museum of natural history

We arrived for the first time at the American Museum of Natural History, New York City Pass our hand, late afternoon. Then, in entering the daughter of the security at the reception told us that the last hour before closing was free! What a surprise! This has allowed us to discover a little museum, and we liked it so much that we decided to return the next morning with our City Pass there. You can see in this museum many species of animals, categorized course, but they are staged in small sets, it really makes you want to get involved. Highlights of this site are the giant whale, dinosaurs and the gathering of elephants. These are really impressive in size, but in this museum is fun to watch. It remains a key point of our trip, good memories!

American museum of natural history

A must-see museum in New York that will appeal to young and old alike. The building itself is resplendent with its facade overlooking Central Park. You are welcomed in this beautiful hall by two spectacular dinosaurs. What follows is the discovery of Jurassic dinosaurs, prehistoric men with Croc Magnon, ancient Amerindian civilizations, and many others. A walk through history.

One of the best museums I have been able to visit so far. It has forty rooms, so it would be wise to choose the rooms that you want to visit. By the main entrance leads to the Rotunda, and in the center of this place Barsaurio mounted skeleton of the world's highest. Note that there is a museum inside the Planetarium which tells the history of the Universe. In short you can see dinosaurs, model animals, meteorites, countless things. A trip you should not miss.

Museum of natural history

One of the largest natural history museum in the world. In no particular order: The stuffed animals set scenes in settings reminiscent of their environment, peoples and civilizations with reconstitution of traditional habitats, ritual objects, clothing ... Do not miss the sections on Native Americans and the peoples of the Pacific, an unparalleled originality. Dinosaurs, a favorite with children section, ocean life, very successful, biology and diversity, and the planetarium, a museum in the museum! A must see: the Space show, magnificent spectacle of twenty minutes.

My favorite museum

This museum is the most entertaining New York and certainly the best to go with kids. Do not know how many times I went because I've lost count but this great. In the afternoon, starting at five or half past five is free because there is only one hour to close. Obviously not enough time to see the whole museum but if you want to quickly go see the dinosaurs, the sequoia and something more. If you want to see the whole museum, admission is the will, the price you get them is only a recommendation. Also, if you like origami and you are in New York around Christmas, have a pretty cool origami tree.

A spectacular visit

A spectacular visit, whether you are with kids or not. If you take, be sure to see them first "Night at the Museum". Recognize statues, dioramas, dinosaurs and more details. My 9 year old daughter loved it and cost us advance without seeing each and every one of the rooms. That if you control the pace, you can go half day visit.
