The Museo Nacional de Cerámica y de las Artes Sutuarias "González Martí" (National Museum of Ceramics and Sumptuary Arts "González Martí") is the result of the passion for collecting of its founder, González Martí. This beautiful museum, located in Valencia's downtown, next to the most luxurious shops, houses a big collection of Spanish and foreign ceramics, emphasizing on local ceramics from Valencia. In this place, ceramic is accompanied by decorative arts, furniture, clothing, numismatics, paintings and graphic art. You must pay special attention to the magnificence of the place itself, one of the most beautiful buildings of the city, an authentic palace, that used to belong to the Marquis of Dos Aguas. You can't miss this museum, one of the most beautiful museums in Valencia.

A touch of color

A cultural holiday in Valencia will be full of impressions, the city has many museums. They love art, work in ceramics, you've already seen the tiles in the Plaza de Espana, the famous white representing the provinces, Toledo, Talavera de la Reina, ceramics of Manises and Paterna then this museum will be a place for learn more about the beauty of ceramics. Museo Nacional de Ceramica y Artes Suntuarias has a rich collection of ceramics thanks to the gifts offered by Marti Gonzales, the owner of the building in the 19th century. The center of the museum is located in the palace of the Marquis de Dos Aguas (palace from the 15th century). Be impressed by the facade of the building, mainly from the portal in alabaster, two atlases pouring water, the coat of arms of the Marquis. And not just pottery and represented here, are also furniture, oriental porcelain, ceramic many regions of Spain. A big surprise will be the ceramic works of Picasso. The environment can breathe the atmosphere of an aristocratic life of the period. And you go to Barcelona you will find another museum on ceramics, it seems to me now one more beautiful than the other.

Rarely one finds that the same buildi...

Rarely one finds that the same building that houses the museum is as valuable as or more than the collection contains. But this is the case of the National Museum of Ceramics "González Martí", which houses a large collection of ceramic works both artistic and historical interest, within one of the most luxurious and spectacular buildings of Valencia, the Palacio de Dos Aguas. Just to see the opulence of the baroque facade of the building and can you prepare for what awaits inside. Inside, the palace contains many rooms with decorations ranging from traditional Valencian cuisine example to luxury style of the nineteenth century, such as the Ballroom. General admission for adults costs € 3, with free access during the Saturday afternoon.

El Museo de la Ceramica (the ceramics museum) is located close to the famous Plaza de la Reina in the Palacio del Marques de Dos Aguas (the Palace of the Marquis of two waters). This is one of the most visited and popular museums in Valencia. The museum is dedicated to the ceramic world and of all ages. In addition to discovering the history of ceramics, you will see the magnificent palace of the Marquis of two waters in its original state. The architecture is very rococo. It's like at Versailles!

One of the most beautiful collections of ceramics

I was advised not to miss absolutely the museum "González Martí", which is housed in the palace of the Marquis Dos Aguas and is just a few steps from the Plaza de la Reina in the center. The first thing that struck me about the museum is its beautiful palace all decorated in rococo style, the exhibition of ceramics and well set up inside with a defined path, along the way there are signs that explain which room of the palace and ceramics is contained inside, too bad you could not take pictures do not miss the kitchen and the old carriages used by the Marquis Dos Aguas. The museum is free of charge every day except Saturday afternoons, Sundays and all public holidays. The tour lasts about an hour and a half, not to be missed.
