Trinidad, the most beautiful colonial city in cuba

Trinidad is a relatively small city (it has just 65,000 inhabitants) situated in the province of Sancti Spiritus in Cuba. It is a perfectly preserved colonial city, which was built by the Spanish conquerors in the sixteenth century. Usually people visit on a day trip from Havana. I recommend that you spend the night there in one of the many private homes that you can rent so that you can enjoy the city just as a local would. At night, during the summer, it is a joy to have a drink somewhere in the center on a terrace with live music. We were lucky enough to be celebrating the festival of San Juan during our brief stay. The festival is the carnival held there but the funny thing is racing to San Juan. Riders come around and engage in walking and racing with horses through the cobbled streets of the city. They tend to drink a lot and it is dangerous to walk in the streets because you may get caught up with the horse racing. I have posted here a few photos of the city, its people and the races of S. John. Greetings.

Trinidad, the city of portraits and music

If the first time you travel to Cuba at least have to see Havana and Trinidad. No doubt you will love, and you will find that there are tourists who spend months in Trinidad, and wonder why. It is so simple because Trinidad has it all ... you summarize. - If you want the beaches 15 km - If you want to dive, idem - If you want mountain, you have great hiking nearby or more distant. - If you like traditional music.: The House of the Trova is your site - If you like outdoor salsa .... the steps of the square are the right place - If you like Afro-Cuban music ... The Congos Reales you see. - If the party going when everything closes you can go to La Cueva, yes, always by taxi, night owl is an experience within a natural cave that opens when everything else is closed and is about 2 km from the village, in 3 cuc per person taxis take you (do not go walking, it's dark and somewhat far) - If you want to ride a horse: trips to the two most famous waterfalls in the area, no more than 1 hour riding. - If you want to stay in a colonial house, you have thousands of them, choose those that are closer to the Church of the Trinity, in the upper town. .... and if you like photography, is the ideal place for the colors of their homes and facilities that put the Trinitarian order to make great portraits, obviously I suggest you to help them as they do you. Bon voyage to all!

If we have to talk about cuba colonia...

If we have to talk about Cuba colonial peoples without hesitation Trinidad certainly always be the first name to light. Heritage retains both the layout of the streets with cobblestones, the facade of the houses ..... Honestly it seems like time has not passed. Do not expect to see here the typical Cuban atmosphere, is a tourist town and so everything in this town is focused on foreigners. Founded in 1514, owes its birth to the sugar industry. It combines features of the eighteenth and nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, cobbled streets puediendose go and observe the magnificent architecture of the city, including its major sights such as the Plaza Mayor and the main church of the Holy Trinity. The latter, one of the largest in Cuba, meets several pieces of great value, as the Christ of the True Cross and a marble altar dedicated to Our Lady of Mercy.

It is a gorgeous authentic.

Trinity. One of the most colorful and wonderful people I have met. The people are very friendly, and as vice!! We stayed in a house of some people. When a bus arrives, there are plenty of people there waiting, offering a room. We got lucky, and the truth is that there was no complaint. Let's see ... Not a luxury hotel, but had clean sheets and hot water and bathroom. Enough for me given the situation, that we were on an adventure, without prior reservations. It's a real beauty. Deserved has the be the heritage of humanity. At night in the square make feast, and dancing, and then there is a club which is great. I want to come back I have, really. And Viñales, Cienfuegos and .... This is one of my favorite photos from my trip to Cuba. In fact, I have expanded a big way, and I have in the living room. Trinidad is a atarceder. The girl against the wall, with the bike guys chatting, air, ... It's like going back two centuries ago ... A delight ...

Es una auténtica preciosidad.

Trinidad.
A ver...
Y a Viñales, y a Cienfuegos....

Who already know Paraty in Rio de Janeiro will feel at home in Trinidad. And that not only the appearance of preserved colonial architecture, but also because the city breathes art and culture. Throughout the city is possible to find people who get together to play and sing. Also h museum and beautiful church to visit. In the evening the high point of the city is the end of a staircase next to the town church: bars that are packed with Cubans and foreigners, with good music and a wonderful mood. The city also holds a surprise for those who want to enjoy a beach, Playa ANCN, a few minutes drive, with calm waters in shades of dazzling blue.

History of a colony

Trinidad is a living colony. They attract your attention the old colonial houses, now divided into four small apartment for what was once only one. The color of its streets and houses, as well as the steps of the lively city center where the night live music and salsa dancing take up the more timid.

Sabor a cuba

Magnificently preserved, Trinidad is definitely one of those places in Cuba where time seems to have stopped. If you have time, worth a stroll through the streets at night, when there is hardly anyone and it is easy to imagine that you were born in another little.

Sabor a cuba

Charming town

It is a colonial city, I really liked walking through the cobblestone streets reminded me so much Granada. I recall that is one of the oldest cities in Cuba and is declared a Unesco World Heritage Site.
