Tapas and more tapas

A typical bar in the city of Salamanca. It has a very good atmosphere and quality products at a reasonable price, although it's no bargain. As Kailos said, the pincho moruno (marinated pork kebab) is pretty good and is one of its most famous specialties, although the patatas bravas (spiced potatoes) and chorizo al infierno (cooked in brandy) are also very good. And the octopus, the octopus was pretty good. They also have the odd slice of toast which is pretty good, like that with goat’s cheese with strawberries. The rest, as is typical in most bars in the city and especially in the area. Tapas and more tapas. Of all kinds. Although here, they really aren’t that bad and the quality is pretty good, not fried and greasy like elsewhere.

Another thing typical in this locale are the grillrooms, although they are more for the lunch hour, then for the early evening when they deal more with tapas and fast food.

It is a spacious locale more or less spacious, with a few tables, however the day I went it was pretty full and you had to find a place wherever. The kitchen is open, for which one is "grateful" as you get to see what's cooking, although it is not what one mostly fixates in. But hey, the bar is clean (minus the floor ...) and quite well taken care of.

The good thing is its location right next to the famous calle Van Dyck. The service is not bad; the waiters are attentive and nice and usually bring you your food quickly, even if it depends on how full they are.
