Market

Bazaar Street is in the centre of Badulla, near the bus station. It runs toward the clock tower, and is lined with small shops and informal businesses. For example, you can see from the photo that the guy is selling snuff leaves. Men make this into a ball, I don't know what they put in it, but then they close it with a blade, and chew it for hours. That's why many men there have red teeth, well, those that are left! You can find natural remedies. A good souvenir to bring home is the palm honey, called trickle, and it's delicious with yogourt.
