Buddha Park

Sito a circa 15 km da Vientiane sulla deviazione sterrata della strada che conduce verso sud, si incontra questo stranissimo parco con ingresso a pagamento (10000 kip a persona+ qualche kip per la macchina fotografica!) dove sono state distribuite tantissime statue di Buddha, Shiva ed altre divinità induiste. Entrando nella bocca aperta di un grosso faccione di pietra ci si arrampica su delle gradinate irte che conducono, fra molteplici statue inquietanti di divinità, al tetto: una terrazza panoramica con vista su tutto il parco sottostante, dominata da un gigantesco albero della vita. La visita al luogo posto lungo la riva del Mekong, vi occuperà circa un'oretta, ma è divertente girovagare fra queste bizzarre sculture osservandone le espressioni e le posture.

Located about 15 km from Vientiane on the deviation dirt road that leads to the south, you will come across this strange park with entrance fee (10,000 kip per person + some kip for the camera!) Where they were distributed many statues of Buddha, Shiva and other Hindu deities. Entering the open mouth of a big face big stone you climb out of the steep steps that lead, among many disturbing statues of deities, or the roof, a roof terrace with views across the park below, dominated by a giant tree of life. Visiting the place along the bank of the Mekong, will occupy about an hour, but it's fun wandering among these bizarre sculptures observing their expressions and postures.

Se tarda unos 45 minutos en llegar en autobús público desde Vientiane, pero el camino merece la pena. Se trata de un pequeño parque, con más de 200 estatuas con significado para budistas e hinduístas, pero que a los no creyentes nos puede resultar extraño y curioso a la vez. El parque puede recorrerse fácilmente en 1.5 horas y los niños seguro que disfrutan.

It takes about 45 minutes to reach by public bus from Vientiane, but the journey is worth it. It is a small park with more than 200 Buddhist statues and meaningful for hindustas, but unbelievers we can be strange and curious at the same time. The park can be covered easily in 1.5 hours and children who enjoy safe.
