Praia de Carcavelos Beach

Carcavelos Beach is one of the famous "da linha" beaches in Concelho de Oeiras, Lisbon, about 20 minutes by train and a 35 minute drive from downtown. It has an expanse of sand, bars and excellent restaurants at night. There are restaurants to suit all budgets, you can eat a burger, salad or an elaborate seafood dish. On the beach you can practice surfing, windsurfing and other sports, take a walk near the sea, plus banharse, of course. On the left you can see the Forte de São Julião da Barra, the current residence of the Minister of National Defense of Portugal. Looking ahead, in the sea is the spectacular Bugio lighthouse (Forte de São Lourenço do Bugio).
