1 review of Chetham's Library

Visited by Marx and Engels

Great

Manchester is a city that stands out for its monuments and historic buildings! But we found one that is not a church or a museum, but a library frequented by intellectuals of the nineteenth century! This is Chetham's Library, the oldest structure in the city that remains intact, and was visited by Marx and Engels. Inside is a school of music for young people and it can be visited free of charge at certain times (9:00 am -12.30 pm and 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm). You go to the concierge to receive a sticker and then a clerk will take you to the entrance of the old library. There, you will find dark wooden shelves stuffed with fascinating ancient books.
