Christian Churches of Goreme

In Goreme, the churches carved into caves offer a living example of the history of Christianity in Turkey. The frescoes that decorate the chapels are over a thousand years old and are in an acceptable condition. Highlights are the Buckle Church, The Chapel of St. Basil, The Church of the Apple, The Chapel of Santa Barbara, Serpent's Church and The Church of the Sandal.
