Church from the year 1565

Walking up the calle Recogidas (harvest road) we find the San Antón church (the courtyard-garden is now being restored), a convent founded in the year 1534 by the Tertiary Franciscans, with the capuchin nuns secularization.

This 17th century church has a Latin cross plan, the vaults and the dome of Churrigueresque style is by Alfonso Castillo. In the High Altar there is an image of the crucifixion of Jesus, work of sculptor Pablo de Rojas, another image of San Francisco de Asís painted by Pedro de Mena, various images of the Betrothal of the Virgin Mary, the Circumcision and the Assumption by Juan de Seville.
