Next to the Medieval Castle is the largest parish church in the town of Rota. Ponce de León, the first Duke of Arcos, was inaugurated there in 1537. Outside, it doesn't look like much, but the inside may surprise you. It consists of a single nave in a late Gothic style. But several modifications have changed the initial structure as five side chapels have been added and the interior decoration has been changed, in a baroque style. It is open every day from 9:00 to 13:00 and 18:30 to 21:00. Due to its proximity to the port it is best to park there because it is less than two hundred meters away.
