Situado al norte de la Provincia de Valladolid a solo 13 Km. de la capital nos encontramos con la hermosa localidad de Cigales situada entre viñedos y campos de cereal; Cigales es una villa cargada de arte e historia que podemos encontrar en su casco urbano.
La monumental Iglesia de Santiago Apóstol declara B.I.C. en el año 2001 es clara muestra del esplendor de esta villa que en el Siglo XVI suministraba vino a la corte y en la que tenían residencia el Duque de Lerma, los Condes de Benavente o los Marqueses de Santillana, este edificio Renacentista fue diseñado por el ilustre arquitecto Rodrigo Gill de Hontañón y es un claro ejemplo de arquitectura purísta, la monumentalidad exterior no disminuye en su interior al poseer una amplia planta de salón de tres naves y con un conjunto de retablos Barrocos de gran calidad.
El entorno de la Iglesia de Santiago y de la Plaza Mayor de Cigales está rodeado de importantes edificios como el Antiguo Hospital de San Juan del S. XVI, numerosas casas nobiliarias, los restos del Palacio de los Condes de Benavente (lugar de nacimiento de la Emperatriz Ana de Austria) la Iglesia Protestante de Cigales y la Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Viloria situada a las afueras del pueblo rodeada de viñedos.
Pero si por algo es conocido Cigales es por sus excepcionales caldos con denominación de origen y por sus barrios de bodegas tradicionales situados a las afueras del pueblo, a día de hoy Cigales cuenta con 450 bodegas subterráneas de los siglos XVI al XVIII que dieron fama a los vinos de esta localidad Vallisoletana y son referente a nivel Nacional e Internacional con sus Rosados y Tintos.
A lo largo del año numerosas son las actividades turísticas y culturales que se llevan a cabo en Cigales pero sobre todo debemos destacar la tradicional “Fiesta de la Vendimia” que se celebra el tercer fin de semana de septiembre, una fiesta declarada de Interés Turístico Regional y la más antigua de Castilla y León.
Durante un fin de semana Cigales rebosa vino por sus calles con degustaciones populares, catas, mercado de productos artesanos, festival de folklore y numerosas actividades dedicadas al mundo del vino, en el mes de Julio se celebran las fiestas Patronales en honor a Santa Marina y en septiembre la Romería de Nuestra Señora de Viloria.
La Gastronomía tiene su hueco durante todo el año porque no solo de vinos hay que hablar en Cigales sino también de sus tradicionales morcillas, el lechazo asado en horno de leña a la manera tradicional y el chichurro; además durante el año la Asociación de Hosteleros de Cigales organiza jornadas Gastronómicas “De puchero y Cazuela” “De Tapas y Rosados” y el Concurso del “Pincho Uvero” y en el mes de abril el Consejo regulador de la Denominación de Origen Cigales organiza los “Premios Calidad” donde se otorga el galardón al mejor Rosado, Tinto Joven y Tinto Crianza del año.
Por último no debemos olvidar el espectacular paisaje que rodea Cigales, enmarcada dentro de la campiña del pisuerga se encuentra rodeada de viñedos y campos de cereal cuyos colores cambiantes a lo largo del año le dan un belleza sin igual, pasear en otoño entre los viñedos es una de las actividades al aire libre más recomendadas de Cigales sin olvidar la vía verde del Canal de Castilla, uno de los proyectos de ingeniería más importantes de Castilla cuyo trazado recorre varios kilómetros del término municipal de Cigales.
La Villa de Cigales cuenta con Oficina de Turismo de apertura permanente situada en la Plaza Mayor; desde ella se ofrecen visitas guiadas a Cigales para conocer la Historia y Patrimonio de esta localidad, Las visitas tienen una duración de dos horas aproximadamente e inluyen un recorrido urbano, la visita a la Iglesia de Santiago Apóstol y a una Bodega Tradicional del S. XVI.

Located north of the province of Valladolid just 13 km from the capital we find the beautiful town of Cigales set among vineyards and grain fields; Cigales is a town full of art and history to be found in the town itself.
