A muy pocos kilómetros de la capital vallisoletana , esta pequeña villa remonta su historia a fechas anteriores a la Edad Media , fecha en que la villa pertenecía a la merindad del Infantazgo de Valladolid . La familia de los Vivero , íntimamente relacionada a la historia de la localidad , se encargo de reunir todos los lotes señoriales hasta conseguir la totalidad de la villa .
Cuenta con un conocido patrimonio arquitectónico . Su obra mas destacada es su [poi=404271]castillo[/poi] , de aspecto imponente e impecable . De su conjunto arquitectónico destaca su [poi=404301]iglesia[/poi] y su [poi=404291]convento[/poi] , ambas obras situadas en el centro de la localidad .
Uno de los atractivos turisticos de Fuensaldaña , además del arquitectónico , es su variedad de bodegas , muchas de ellas dedicadas a la hosteleria .
Cuenta con dos fechas clave festivas : El 16 de septiembre , cuando celebran las fiestas en honor a San Cipriano , y el 15 de mayo , fecha de la festividad de San Isidro Labrador .
