Coroação de Espinhos Chapel

The Chapel of the Crowning of Thorns is another small, hexagonal chapel found on the pedestrian climb of the stairway that ascends to the summit of Mount Espinho. Inside there are 3 carvings that represent the crowning of Christ with a crown of thorns. The central image is of Jesus sitting with an agonized expression on his face, accompanied by two soldiers, one of them fustigándolo.
