4 reviews of Fram Museum

A historic boat

The Fram Museum, housed in the polar ship Fram (built in 1892) was opened in 1936, and pays tribute to the three great Norwegian explorers, Fridtjof Nansen, Otto Sverdrup and Roald Amundsen. The museum has several exhibitions offering photographic images of wildlife from polar regions, like polar bears and penguins. The original interior of the ship is intact, and visitors can enter to view it. Fram was designed and built by Scotsman Colin Archer in a Norwegian shipyard according to the specifications of the Norwegian Arctic explorer Fridtjof Nansen.
