Gandhi memorial
It is a building with a 4 foot statue inside, dedicated to pacifist leader Mahatma Gandhi. As Pondicherry was a French colony until 1954, this place had a statue dedicated to Governor Dupleix, which later was replaced by that of Gandhi. 8 granite pillars surround the building, seemingly brought from the forts of Gingee.
