Gardens of the Champs-Elysées

Cuando se habla de Champs Elysées, lo que viene a la mente es una avenida enorme, muy ancha, con un arco de triunfo al final, tiendas de lujo y desfilés militares el 14 de julio. No tanto espacio verde, jardines y tranquilidad. Los jardines están al final de los Champs Elysées cuando bajas la avenida desde el Arco. Fueron modificados como jardines de estilo inglés durante el segundo imperio. El Barón de Haussmann renovaba entonces todo París, destruyendo las casas bajas medievales poco higiénicas, para construir avenidas anchas, espacios verdes, grandes axis más adaptados al crecimiento de la ciudad y de los medios de transporte a motor. Puedes ver bellas fuentes en el parque, y estatuas de personajes famosos de la época, como el escritor Alphonse Daudet. Por un lado llegarías al palacio del Elysée, que es la residencia oficial del presidente francés. Del otro lado tienes los museos Petit y Grand Palais, de arte. El Pavillon de l´Elysée es uno de los restaurantes más prestigiosos de la capital. Los jardines llegan hasta la plaza de la concordia.
