2 reviews of Great Bay Beach

Great Bay

The city of Philipsburg sits along Bay Great Bay, which is about 3 km long. It lies between the peninsulas of Fort Amsterdam (west) and Point Blanch (east), so it is very sheltered and the water is very calm. It is washed by the Caribbean Sea. Along the bay lies a magnificent beach of white sand where you can practice water sports, and Promenade packed with bars and restaurants. It also has a small jetty (Captain Hodge Wharf), where is the stop of the Water Taxi .

A united city beach

I love the beaches that seem a part of the city, which give the impression of being part of your house, as if instead you had to have sand and water garden. The Great Bay is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful I've ever seen because it combines in itself the role of a playground for the inhabitants of the city, walk, center of commerce and even cruise port. Of course it could not be otherwise, since the island is not so big and the population is concentrated in a few points that are little more than the two capitals of the two zones, the Dutch and the French. The beach is not very big, just 500 meters from Granada sand and clear, full of shells and coral washed by clear waters that reflect her nearby buildings and blue sky of the tropics. Full of quiet broken only by a Caribbean melody occasionally heard in the bars that dot is a perfect place to end the day at one of the two capitals of the island.
