Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden

The Hirshhorn Museum is located on the Washington Mall, which is the green area where you'll find most of the city's national museums belonging to the Smithsonian group. Entering any Smithsonian museum is free, but donations may be made. The Hirshhorn is known for its museum and sculpture garden, and around the building you'll find part of the museum's collection of contemporary sculptures. For example, you can see a Spanish sculpture in bronze by Juan Muñoz called "Last Conversation Piece". The museum's collection is generally focused on modern art by artists from America, and other countries, including names such as Alexander Calder, Roy Lichtenstein and Edouard Hopper.
