Hout Bay

Hout Bay es una bahía en el sur de la costa atlántica de Ciudad el Cabo. Tiene una pequeña playa donde algunos residentes vienen a pasar el día. Un puerto pesquero y deportivo (con muchos veleros) que alimenta de peces a parte de la ciudad. En el puerto hay un pequeño mercadillo de artesanía, un museo sobre la vida marítima y del puerto, varios restaurantes donde degustar las exquisiteces del océano y también un enorme y popular (por lo precios) "fish & chips", en el que no sólo encontramos el clásico pescado con patatas fritas, sino que rebozan y fríen cualquier producto marítimo, langosta incluida. Los amantes del marisco se echarían las manos a la cabeza pero, para gustos y formas lo colores, que se suele decir. Lo cierto es que , lógicamente olía a fritanga, pero sabía muy bien y era barata. Eso sí, jamás lo mataría con ketchup o salsa barbacoa, como vi hacer a más de uno. El ambiente se lo debe a que este puerto es el punto de partida de los barcos que, en corto recorrido por la bahía, llegan a la isla Duiker, famosa por alojar a una numerosa colonia de "Focas del Cabo". Hay varias empresas que lo organizan en el mismo muelle. La travesía dura una hora y cuesta entre 65 y 75ZAR (5 a 6€). Te llevan por la bahía, pasando por la isla donde hace una pequeña parada, hasta un gran barco hundido, por un golpe de mar contra las rocas de la montañosa costa. Está prohibido pisar la isla Duiker, con lo que la "visita" se hace desde el barco. Llegar a Hout Bay, desde la ciudad, se complica un poco, aunque con una combinación de minibuses es posible. Si no tenemos vehículo propio, una buena alternativa es el bus turístico, algo más caro, pero mucho más completo y fácil.

Même avec un temps nuageux, le village de Hout Bay est de toute beauté. C'est d'ailleurs peut-être ce ciel menaçant qui magnifie l'eau turquoise de l'océan qui borde le port et la plage de ce village de pêcheurs qui se situe à 20 minutes de la ville du Cap. C'est à la veille de Noël que je me rends dans cette baie où la plage fait face à de magnifiques montagnes. Aujourd'hui, personne ne se baigne ! Il faut dire que l'eau de l'océan, à environ 13 degrés n'inspire pas à la baignade surtout quand le soleil n'est pas de la partie. Mais ce village a bien d'autres atouts comme des restaurants de fruits de mer succulents et un fast food de fish and chips surprenant ! En me baladant sur le port, j'observe avec attention le balai incessant des bateaux de pêche. Je me retrouve même nez à nez avec une otarie plus si sauvage qui vient chercher de la nourriture avant de replonger dans l'eau turquoise. D'ailleurs, du port, de nombreux départs en bateau se font pour aller observer la faune et la flore océaniques.

Cuando uno visita la península del Cabo de Buena Esperanza, no puede imaginar la de rincones con encanto que puede encontrar. A la vuelta hacia Ciudad del Cabo se encuentra este puerto pesquero que lleva el nombre de la bahía donde está enclavado. Tiene un restaurante de comida rápida a base de pescado, calamares y mariscos tipo McDonalds que tiene mucha gracia. En el agua hay leones marinos que salen del agua y los turistas se hacen foto con ellos. Creo que son adiestrados por los que luego cobran por la foto. Se puede llegar también a este lugar con la línea larga (creo era la azul) de los autobuses turísticos, que se cogen para ir al Jardín Botánico (visita imprescindible), con lo cual es idóneo para comer después de la visita.

Bonita ensenada a la salida de Cape Town, puerto pesquero desde donde coger un barco para ir hasta la isla de las focas y leones marinos. El mar no esta precisamente tranquilo pero merece la pena el corto trayecto para observar la costa y sus montañas desde otra perspectiva, asi como avistar focas.
