Breathtaking views

Great

Some people don't like this shelter, which you'll come across while hiking the famous Laugavegur route. A thousand metres above sea level, the landscape is rugged and rocky (Hraft means obsidian, by the way), and there are often low clouds, high winds and cold temperatures. The collapse of the ice caves, once one of the attractions, means that it has lost some of its appeal. But I just love the rugged landscape, rocky and steaming, with white ice, red, grey and black stones, and that sensation of dizziness ... it's not an easy path, but you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views.
