Huntly Castle

Excellent

Huntly Castle is the home of the Gordon Clan, who were one of the most influential noble families in the history of Huntly. Originally constructed during the 12th Century but later extended and renovated to the majesty that its ruins show today, with both its exterior and interior still showing various prints and badges. At first it belonged to the Earls of Fife, but it soon changed hands. The history of this palace-castle is as extensive as it is violent, bringing its life to an end after the last outbreaks of the eighteenth century Jacobites. At present, largely in ruins, it attracts the public (mostly morbid) after being declared as one of the most haunted buildings across the country, suggesting the existence of numerous accounts of supernatural phenomena.
