The essence of Cabo Frio
Itajuru Canal connects the Araruama lagoon with the Atlantic Ocean and is about 6km long. You can take a boat ride down it, and see the fish market, fairs, Portinho neighbourhood, and people doing watersports like water skiing, kayaking, etc. The view of the sunset from the canal is beautiful. Boat trips take one hour (R $ 20.00) or two hours (R $ 30.00), and visit the main islands and landmarks of Cape Frio as well as the city.
