Kawagoe

The spirit of old Edo is what you can breathe in the neighborhood of Kawagoe, with stash houses converted into shops, restaurants and temples and offering a great view for the intrepid tourist. I preferred to walk and suddenly found myself in the Gion district of Kyoto. The buildings are such that you expect an apprentice Geisha to appear at any time. There is a very famous street where they sell candy and sweets of life. You can also find a kind of loaf of bread but twice as long, called "Fugashi" and it is like pastry crust. A typical icon of the city is the tower with a fire bell rang. With all wooden and paper houses, a fire at was the most terrible thing that could strike the area.
