    1 review of Killin Hotel

    Beautiful village in Scottish Higlands

Killin is a small village that separates the districts of Stirling and Perth near the beginning of the Scottish Highlands. Historically they belonged to either district. Currently it's classed as Stirling. In Gaelic its name means White Church or pure. It was under the control of the MacNab Clan (the old cemetery of the clan is in the mountains, but there is limited access). Killin is situated in a wonderful location; you can appreciate the beauty of the mountains, the strength of the Dochart rapids (where the Dochart and Lochay rivers merge) or the magnificence of Loch (lake) Tay. There is also a Scottish cultural centre, which clarifies the origins of some clans and local legends.
