Alva is one in a long chain of lakes encompassing the headwaters of the Clearwater River, a major tributary of Blackfoot. The lake is easily accessible off MT-83 and there is a campground and developed boat launch, picnic area, and swimming beach. Best of all, the state has recently declared that the lake is now a no-wake boating area, effectively meaning that only kayaks, canoes, and small power boats will use it.
