Spectacular natural setting

Lake Iseo is located in Lombardy on the border of Brescia and Bergamo. It's the one of the largest lakes in Italy and the highest lake in all of Europe. Over the centuries, small communities developed around the lake and today these historic towns are perfectly integrated into the spectacular natural setting. Tourism is the main industry in the area and the tourist season (May to September) is full of events like regattas, windsurfing festivals, scuba diving, and local fairs. Surrounded by charming villages

Lake Iseo isn't the biggest lake in Lombary (northern Italy), but it's just as wonderful as its more famous siblings: Como and Garda. It has far fewer tourists in the high season, a scenic island in the middle (Monte Isola), and plenty of charming villages where you can breathe and unwind. The east coast is, in my opinion, more interesting than the west as it has less industry. Don't miss the small village of Sarnico at the entrance to the lake.
