Over the River Cherwell,

Magdalen Bridge is over the River Cherwell, Oxford, in the direction of London. It's the only bridge over the river is at this point of the town and that's why traffic is often terrible so it's much better if you can go by bus. The bridge is next to Magdalen College, one of the universities of Oxford, and is a stone bridge, built in the late eighteenth century by John Gwynn of Shrewsbury. It was widened as the amount of traffic grew. Under the bridge there's a shop that rents wooden boats if you want to paddle down the river, they are called "punts" and "punting" is the sport of rowing and is a favorite activity of college students.
