Market of Sighisoara

The Sighisoara market place used to be at the top of the city, which had been the original medieval centre, protected by defensive walls of Sighisoara. But with modern times, it no longer had to take shelter within the walls, and the city also grew until the walls could no longer contain it. The population was displaced in the lower city including the market. It is a very important market for Mures which has remained very traditional.
