Miette Hot Springs

We were supposed to hike the famous Jasper Skyline trail, however the trail was evacuated due to the Excelsior forest fire the day before we were due to start. So we opted for the Sulphur Skyline instead. This is a fun day out, it only takes a couple of hours to reach the Sulphur ridge and there are panoramic views from the narrow rocky summit. Total ascent is 700m.

If you decide to compliment the views with second breakfast or picnic lunch you are sure to meet the resident golden mantled ground squirrels. The rustle of a wrapper and you will be quickly surrounded by the perky, bright eyed scavengers. Great fun to watch but it is most probably best not to feed them.

Gorgeous drive up to the pools with good chances of seeing wildlife.
