Once in a lifetime experience
This past February I decided to visit my homeland, Italy. Not only did I get to experience this inspiring and beautiful culture, but I had the courage to venture to Milan solo. This was a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget.
I went for Milan fashion week and had to work most of the time by going to shows to write about, but I did get the chance to wander and explore. I have studied Italian so I know that basics which really helped a lot. My last night there my internet on my phone had stopped working which is really scary, especially when trying to navigate through a foreign country. I didn't have time to get it fixed because I had to rush off to a show. Once I arrived at the show I realized that I had only brought 8 euros with me, 6 of which I gave to the driver. I had also forgotten my credit card. I panicked for a second but then I realized I was alone and had to figure this out ASAP. I started asking local Italians at stands how to get back to the street my hotel was on. In the process I passed a gelato place and was dying for some gelato but couldn't buy any. Pure torture.
