Museum of the Sannio (historical Section)

The Museo del Sannio in Benevento is a museum of historical records about Beneventano throughout many ages. It is divided into four sections: Archaeology, medievalist, Art and History. The first three are placed in the cloisters of the church of St. Sophia, the last are kept in the tower of the fortress of the Rectors. Furthermore, from the year 1981 to the present, the Museum also includes the mission of the church of San Hilario Port \ 'Aurea, which acts as a video museum of the Arch of Trajan. The museum also offers a library with a very broad selection of books, and a laboratory for analysis
