New Palace

The Palazzo Nuovo di Bergamo is named in comparison to the Palazzo Vecchio, originally intended to be the headquarters of the city, and was constructed from a design by the architect Vincenzo Scamozzi. It started construction in the early 1600s and was finally completed in 1958. The front has two superimposed orders: The first, on the ground floor, which is characterized by the arches of the porch that is the second highest, is lit by a series of nine windows that open behind an elegant balustrade.
