3 reviews of Old street of Wells

Beautiful historical monuments

Wells is known as one of the smallest cities in England, but it has plenty of beautiful historical monuments like the cathedral, built in the 12th and 14th centuries. The old street known as Vicars' Close leads directly to the cathedral, and was probably constructed to give an interesting perspective effect. The homes there are some of the oldest in the world.
