St Aldate's

St Aldate's is the main road out of Oxford in a southerly direction. You exit from Carfax, the intersection of the four main roads, and reach the college of Christ Church. On the left you can see the Town Hall of Oxford. Then, on the next left, is the main entrance of Christ Church, one of the most prestigious and largest schools of the University of Oxford. Above the entrance, there is a bell tower, Tom Tower, which is the emblem of the city. In front is Alice's Shop, a store that used to be visited by Alice Liddell, the girl who inspired Lewis Carroll's novel Alice in Wonderland.
