Paramount Theatre

What a treat to step back in time to the 'olden days' at this renovated movie theatre in downtown Austin, located just blocks away from the Texas State Capitol. For the past 39 years, the Paramount and Statewide Theatres show more than 100 classic films in their original 35mm format. We went opening night for the 1939 feature and children's classic - The Wizard of Oz. We cheered the Good Witch and booed the Bad Witch along with children and adults alike, the grown-ups reliving their childhood memories while the little ones created new ones. Characters based on he film greeted us along with their own yellow brick road.
