Long live the Italian piazzas!

After traveling through several cities in Italy I discovered a common factor in all of them that I love. Squares. The Italian squares are places where streets rest from their travels. Some of them have a tiring day for being monotonously straight wide avenues without curves and light. Then there are others who have had a tiring day such as streets that cross boulevards. They turn, twist, climb up hills, down stairs, dodge works and natural gas installations and have to put up with pedestrians that ridicule and insult them for being narrow and uncomfortable. Squares have been invented especially for them, and for me, as a tourist, they also represent a place of respite and rest.
