Piazza dell'Orologio

1 review of Piazza dell'Orologio

Beautiful little square

This beautiful little square is halfway between the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. It's discreet but very harmonious with old buildings, among them is Palazzo della Porta (a renaissance palace) and the church Crocefisso (sixteenth century by Giacomo Della Porta). All the walls of the church are decorated with beautiful frescoes and it's open from 7-12 and 16-19 hours. You can see paintings depicting the crucifixion of Jesus and the miracles of the Cross. Outside is a small restaurant with a terrace and, as it's in fairly narrow cross street, it's a nice place that gets little sun and stays cool most of the day.
